Uncomfortable and Afraid

Those are the two words I wrote at the end of the preface to describe how I was feeling.  And frankly, I think that is a good thing.  It means this book will challenge me.  It will challenge me to consider and possibly reconsider my beliefs and the whys behind them.

What are you feeling?

  1. I'm resolute that even if at the end of this I'm not in agreement with EFG then I'll atleast know how to defend my opinions better. You've got to know what you don't believe in order to understand what you do.

  2. Mostly I'm just excited to have a discussion about authentic femininity. I'm not sure if I'll agree or disagree with EFG, but my favorite part is exploring the topic. Feminism is not something that I've spent a lot of time on, and I already feel that I'm growing simply by looking at some of the positives and negatives.

  3. Molly - I completely agree "you've got to know what you don't believe in order to understand what you do."

And while the words 'uncomfortable' and 'afraid' typically have negative connotations, I actually see them as a good thing in this case - a catalyst to learn and grown.

  4. I was actually a little disappointed by the preface. But I realize that the book should have far more substance and I am excited to continue to learn so much from everyone's views.

You're quite right that challenge can be a really good thing, but hopefully working through the book together will be fun too!
